From April 8 -19, the Big C supermarket chain and D&F pork supplier holds a “pork fair” in order to introduce consumers to pork quality monitoring process from farms to table and their commitment torwards protecting consumer health and welfare.
Pork sold at the supermarket is from pigs raised in traceable farms of known location, carefully monitored during the production process, slaughtered in a closed and full-function system. The slaughterign process is approved by veterinary authority. Carcass is transported for circulation in refrigerated trucks under 0-4oC.
As soon as pork chops arrive at storage warehouses, a second check is conducted at Big C fresh food production centers, which have received HACCP certification. In stores, pork meat is kept in cool condition.
In this pork fair, Big C sells pork in package of 1 to 1.5 kg. Lean chop is priced at 76,500 VND/kg; mixed chop is 69,500 VND/kg, pig leg is 50,900 VND/kg.
